About this work

Flood at Nantes

The Loire swells beyond its banks, submerging the streets of Nantes. Flood at Nantes captures the city in a moment of quiet resilience, water lapping at the edges of buildings and reflecting the muted light of an overcast sky. The scene is a study in subdued tones, where the blues and grays of the water dominate, punctuated by the soft ochres and browns of the citys architecture. Loiseau's brushwork is both deliberate and delicate, rendering the water's surface with a texture that seems almost tangible. The composition balances the chaos of nature with the order of human structures, creating a harmonious tension that draws the eye. This poster brings a sense of contemplative calm to a study or reading nook, where its restrained palette and thoughtful composition can be appreciated in solitude.

Information

Frequently asked

Yes. This is a stretched canvas, not a rolled or loose print: the image is printed on a cotton-polyester canvas (300 to 350 gsm) and wrapped over FSC-certified wood stretcher bars, 4 cm deep. A hanging kit is included in the box, so no frame, glazing or assembly is needed. Hardware supplied can vary slightly by country depending on which of our ateliers produces your piece.
The canvas is a cotton-polyester blend, 300 to 350 gsm (350 to 400 microns), printed with archival pigment inks and stretched over responsibly sourced, FSC-certified wood stretcher bars. This edition is the 4 cm Thick profile, which gives the piece real presence on the wall and lets it hang cleanly without a frame. The texture of the weave is part of the finish and is visible up close. To clean it, dust gently with a dry, soft cloth. Avoid water, solvents and direct sunlight for long periods. Every canvas is printed and shipped on demand, so there is no minimum order and nothing sits in a warehouse.
As a guide: 40×50 cm suits a desk or small wall, 50×70 cm sits well above a sofa or bed, and 70×100 cm anchors a room as a focal piece. If you'd like advice for your space, send us your dimensions and we'll recommend a size.
For your country, this piece is estimated at 4 to 7 business days from the moment you order, on our free tracked Economy service. Express is offered at checkout where available. Every piece is printed at the atelier closest to you, which is why the timing differs by format. Full country-by-country ranges are on our estimated delivery times page.
If your piece arrives damaged, defective, or isn't what you ordered, let us know within 30 days of delivery and we'll send a free replacement or refund — no need to send anything back first in most cases. See our refund policy for the full process.
