Fold Seven — Fine Art

Fold Seven - Op Art shows bands of colour laid in a measured step across the sheet. The paint sits in flat blocks with sharp edges between each one. Thomas Downing worked in a style built on ordered shifts of tone and shape.

The fine art print comes ready to hang. A white frame gives the picture a clean edge on the wall. The white finish keeps the painted bands separate and does not pull attention from the step pattern in this print.

In a dining room on the far wall, the bands read as a steady rhythm from the table. From the doorway the step change in tone is clear, and the frame edge holds the line.
