Forest at Martigues by Andre Derain — Fine Art

Forest at Martigues shows a stand of trees filling the sheet with strong dark shapes against a bright open ground. The paint is laid in thick strokes that leave ridges and breaks in the colour. Andre Derain built these forms with clear pressure, so each branch reads as a separate gesture on the page.

This is a fine art print set in a frame with a back panel, ready to hang when the option is used. The surface stays flat and the dark tree shapes hold their weight without softening.

It suits a dining room wall that gets afternoon light. From the table you notice the quick marks first, and from the doorway the dark tree shapes fill the lower half of the view.
