About this work
Long curved lines cross a soft ground in Forwards Parcifal Series Group 2 Section 4 the Convolute of the Physical Plane 1916.
The fine art print goes straight onto a nail. Hilma af Klint used paint and pencil to build these layered marks, a practice tied to early abstract spiritual drawings. The paper is matte, so the pale bands stay soft without a shine under a lamp.
A metal hanger fits to the back and goes straight onto a nail or screw, so the print goes up on the wall ready to hang without a separate frame. Above a low desk, the layered lines read as one steady shape from across the room, and the small pencil lines show up when you stand near.
