Fruit Bowl Book and Newspaper — Fine Art

A fruit bowl, a book and a newspaper sit together on a table in Fruit Bowl Book and Newspaper by Juan Gris. The painted shapes sit in a flat arrangement, with colour planes laid next to each other.

The fine art print uses matte paper so the painted colour stays soft and does not reflect light. The frame finish can follow the room: a light finish on a dark wall, a dark finish on a pale wall, or a wood finish beside wooden furniture.

It works well in a reading corner above a low side table. From the chair you see the bowl and the newspaper, and from the doorway you see the whole group as one settled arrangement. The paper and the frame finish keep the scene calm in that corner.
