G-3 — Fine Art

The print G-3 - 1982 by Emil Schumacher shows a field of paint with marks that cross toward the center. The eye settles on the darker cluster before drifting out to the empty edge. Gestural paint marks build the picture without a fixed subject.

The fine art print goes straight onto a nail. The paper is matte, so the paint tones stay soft under a lamp and the surface does not shine. A light frame sits on a dark wall, or a dark frame rests on a pale wall, and the print keeps its balance there.

It hangs on the landing wall where footsteps pass each day. From the bottom stair you see the broad shapes, and from the top step you notice the smaller paint breaks in the field.
