Gear Jammer 1976 — Fine Art

Gear Jammer 1976 shows thick painted marks and a few quiet blocks of colour on a flat ground. The picture reads as a mix of gesture and flat colour, a mix Robert Rauschenberg used in his print and painting work. From the far end of a room the marks look like a loose group of dark shapes. Up close you see where the paint was laid and where it was left thinner.

This fine art print sits inside a frame with a clear edge. The frame comes in white, wood, dark wood or black, and the edge keeps the painted marks from fading into the wall around it.

It fits above a tall bookcase in a study. You notice the hard edges of the colour blocks first, then the softer painted lines near the middle.
