Golden Presence

Golden Presence - 1961 opens on a warm ground where a central shape gathers darker tones around it. Richard Pousette-Dart built the picture with thin brush lines and small spots that crowd into a soft layered field.

This fine art print is ready to hang on arrival. The layered mark painting shows his method of building a surface from many small strokes. The white frame sits around the picture and gives the painted edge a clean line on the wall.

A dark wood frame would push the warm tones back and keep the small spots visible from the side. The picture works well on a narrow wall in a dining room. From the doorway you notice the warm ground first, then the thin lines when you pass by.
