Hollyhocks, Isles of Shoals

Hollyhocks, Isles of Shoals shows tall flower stalks rising from a garden patch against the New England coast. The blooms sit above green leaves and a strip of water beyond. Childe Hassam places the plants near the front so they fill the lower half.

The fine art print arrives ready to hang, with a metal hanger fitted to the back that goes straight onto a nail or screw. The matte paper keeps the flower colours quiet and stops glare on the wall.

It works on a bedroom wall near the foot of the bed. From that spot you see the tall shapes first and the blue water last.
