I Saw the Figure 5 in Gold William Carlos Williams — Fine Art

I Saw the Figure 5 in Gold by Charles Demuth shows a number repeated in gold tones across a plain field. The gold forms sit over muted dark shapes. It belongs to the Precisionist work of Charles Demuth and points to a clear sight.

You get the fine art print with a hanger already on the back. A metal hanger is fitted to the back, so it goes straight onto a nail in the wall. Nothing else is needed to put it up. The matte face of the paper does not catch the light.

It fits above the desk in a study. From the chair you see the repeated figure first, then the dark blocks beside it. The light from the desk lamp keeps the gold flat and the edges sharp.
