About this work
Infinity Field, Jerusalem Series - 1983 opens on a soft ground where faint bands drift across the sheet. The marks stay loose and do not harden into edges. Theodoros Stamos worked in this way, laying colour in broad areas so the surface holds a quiet tension. The view feels unhurried and open.
This fine art print sits in a frame with a back panel, so the sheet stays flat and the edges stay clean. The matte surface keeps the pale tones from warming under a lamp, and the assembled piece hangs straight without extra parts.
It fits a narrow hallway beside a person who stops to look while passing through. From a door across the hall the broad soft bands hold their shape, and the near side shows the slight unevenness in the paint layer.
