Interior with Doorway — Fine Art

Interior with Doorway by Richard Diebenkorn shows a room seen through an opening. Painted shapes suggest walls and a door frame. The colours hold together without strong contrast. Richard Diebenkorn often painted interiors and landscapes with a calm, measured hand.

The frame finish can follow the room around it. A light frame sits on a dark wall, or a dark frame on a pale wall, or a wood frame beside wooden furniture. The fine art print keeps the painted areas flat and even.

It works on a hallway wall where you pass through. From the landing you notice the door shape and the quiet colour band. The printed surface stays matte under the ceiling light.
