Irregular Form — Fine Art

Irregular Form shows a set of black lines that bend and break across the sheet. The lines do not run straight. Some stop early and others start again. The space around them stays open and quiet. The picture comes from Sol LeWitt and follows his way of drawing by rule.

The fine art print goes straight onto a nail. The paper is matte, so the black lines stay flat and the grey ground does not shine. A light frame works on a darker wall and a dark frame works on a lighter wall.

In a reading corner on a pale wall, the bent lines draw the eye along the sheet. From the chair you see the short gaps between the lines. The room feels steady with the drawing on the wall.
