/BIG/Samurai No. 8

Jay DeFeo / BIG / Samurai No. 8 holds a dark mark near the center of the sheet. The mark is built up in layers of paint with scraped lines crossing it. Jay DeFeo often worked with paint laid down and then scraped away. A black frame gives the dark mark a hard line against the lighter ground.

The fine art print comes ready to hang. The print comes on matte paper, so the dark paint stays flat and the scraped lines read without shine under a lamp. The black frame finish wraps the picture in a clean border.

It fits a study desk facing a window, where you see the dark mark first and the scraped marks last.

Frequently asked

Yes — this Fine Art piece comes framed and arrives ready to hang. It is printed with our 12-color fine art technology on smooth matte paper (200 gsm), protected by shatterproof plexiglass, and set in a durable pine wood frame. A hanging kit is included, so you can put it straight on the wall.

Our 12-color fine art printing technology delivers vivid, accurate colors with real depth, far beyond standard 4-color inkjet printing. The print is on smooth matte paper (200 gsm, 0.26 mm thick) that gives a clean, glare-free display, and it sits behind shatterproof plexiglass in a durable pine wood frame (20 mm thick, 10 to 14 mm wide). The paper and wood are FSC-certified. Every piece is printed and shipped on demand, so there is no minimum order and every order is fresh.
