Kitchen Table 1 — Fine Art

Kitchen Table 1 shows a rounded table pressed into a room, painted in the broad manner of Fernando Botero. Warm reds and ochres sit on the wall behind the wood, so the shapes feel heavy and close together. A soft grey runs under the legs and keeps the whole picture calm.

A fine art print in a frame with a back panel keeps the tones steady on the sheet. The matte surface does not shine under a lamp, so the reds stay flat and the shadows do not gather.

It works on a narrow wall in a kitchen, where you stand at the sink and look past the stove. The table fills the lower half, and the colours sit in front of the white tiles.
