Landscape at Collioure III 1907 — Fine Art

Landscape at Collioure III 1907 shows a patch of sea and sky set near a small town on the French coast. The view breaks into bright colour areas with quick painted strokes. Up close the brushwork reads as loose and open.

From across the room the broad blocks of colour hold the image together. The white frame finish keeps the edge clean against the bright tones, and the wood finish gives a softer line beside the sea tones. The dark wood frame makes the colour areas stand out more.

This fine art print gives you a clear border on the wall. The matte paper keeps the colours steady under a lamp. It works above a long desk where you sit close. From the doorway you see the open colour blocks, and at arm length the short strokes show through.
