About this work
A loose landscape at Wargemont shows green and blue tones meeting a pale sky. Pierre-Auguste Renoir painted the scene with short separate brush strokes that leave the surface uneven. The water and the distant shore sit as broad colour patches rather than sharp lines.
The print arrives ready to hang, with a metal hanger fitted to the back that goes straight onto a nail or screw. No separate frame to buy. On this fine art sheet the even coat of ink keeps the pale blues from turning glossy.
It works on a landing wall beside a wooden newel post. From the bottom stair you notice the wide green stretch, and standing near the steps you count the short strokes in the tree line.
