About this work
Landschaftstudie Dorfstrasse 1908 shows a village street built from loose brush marks. The paint sits in short strokes, and the colours stay muted against the paper. You can see each stroke where the paint thinned out. Alexej von Jawlensky worked with this kind of direct paint handling in his landscape studies.
You get the fine art print with a hanger already on the back. The paper stays matte, so the quiet colours do not catch the light. It hangs on a wall where the ceiling light falls from the side.
It fits above the desk in a study, where you sit and look at the strokes while you write. From the doorway you notice the rough paint first, then the street shapes. The wall stays calm behind it.
