Le Grand Orgasme — Fine Art

The page shows a busy field of thin black lines and pale grey wash that move across the sheet in Le Grand Orgasme - 1947. The marks press hard in some places and fade out in others, as if the brush moved fast then stopped.

The fine art print comes ready to hang. Wols worked with loose gesture and raw material, and the print keeps that restless energy. A metal hanger is fitted to the back, so it goes straight onto a nail or screw without a separate frame.

The matte surface holds the pale grey tone without shine under a lamp. It fits a narrow stairwell wall where the light falls flat. From the landing you see the dense line work, and from a step below you notice the places where the ink thins out.
