Leap Frog

Leap Frog - 1952 by Gene Davis steps through narrow painted bands of colour. The strokes press down in a steady rhythm, each one starting where the last one ends. You can trace the path from one side of the sheet to the other.

The fine art print goes straight onto a nail. The white frame gives the picture a clean outline against the coloured bands. A wood frame warms the cool tones, and a dark wood frame deepens the shadows between the strokes. You can choose the finish that fits your wall.

It sits on a landing wall where you pause between floors. From the top of the stairs you notice the band pattern first, then the pressure in each stroke as you walk closer.
