Leaves III by Jean — Fine Art

Leaves III shows layered leaf shapes pushed across the sheet in a loose scatter. The paint sits in thick bits and thin sweeps, with some areas nearly empty. Jean-Paul Riopelle built these forms with a palette knife and a steady hand.

The fine art print keeps the paint ridges and the quiet gaps between them. A dark frame on a pale wall lets the lighter passages stay open and prevents the picture from closing in.

It fits a kitchen wall near the sink, where the morning light hits the thick paint bits first. From the table you notice the scraped lines and the uneven edges.
