Les Eyzies France — Fine Art

Les Eyzies France draws a section of the Dordogne rock face in steady black lines on a pale ground. The arch and layered stone stand out against the empty sky. The work follows the measured drawing practice of MC Escher and shows a landscape rather than an impossible figure.

The fine art print comes ready to hang. The frame finish can follow the room. A light frame on a dark wall keeps the pale paper readable. A dark frame on a pale wall holds the black ink marks without masking them.

It hangs on the kitchen wall near the tall window. You notice the ridge of stone first, then the small line details in the mortar joints. The morning light moves across the sheet and the shadow under the arch changes by the hour.
