Lice

Lice - 1945 shows a figure drawn with careful contour and thin hatch. The figure fills most of the sheet and the lines stay close and even. Carmelo Arden Quin made this kind of drawing in the mid century abstract style.

A fine art print carries the image on matte paper with a white frame. The white frame gives the drawing a clean border and the matte surface keeps the hatch soft without shine.

It fits a hallway wall where the overhead bulb throws a flat light. From the far end you read the outline of the figure first, then the parallel strokes near the feet.
