Livres — Fine Art

Livres - Lyrical Abstraction reads as a sheet of broad colour patches with a quiet hum between them. The paint stays loose, never sharp at the edges. From a few paces away the shapes hold together, and closer in you notice where the pigment thins and the ground shows through.

A fine art print set in a frame with a back panel sits in front of the image, and the glass keeps the greyer passages from shining under a lamp. The frame gives the sheet a clean border, so the painted edges do not meet the wall directly.

On a landing wall above the stair rail, the big shapes come first and the small breaks appear when you pass. The framed panel rests on the shelf beside the door and stays put without leaning.
