Mauve Barn — Fine Art

Mauve Barn shows a simple building against a coloured sky. Soft brush strokes lay down the purple roof and the pale walls. The paint sits in thin bands across the paper. Eyvind Earle works with hard outlines and flat colour in this mid century illustration.

This fine art print sits in a frame with a back panel. The matte surface keeps the soft mauve tones from shining under a lamp. You can see the steady hand of the brush in the roof line.

A quiet hallway wall holds this picture at shoulder height. From the doorway you notice the flat colour bands first. Up close the thin outlines around the barn door come into view.
