About this work

Mauve Still Life

Mauve Still Life - 1968 shows a quiet group of objects in shades of purple and pink against a soft ground.

The shapes sit close together and the paint stays thin. A metal hanger on the back lets the fine art print go up on a nail or screw without a separate frame.

The matte surface keeps the mauve tones flat and stops shine under a lamp. It works well on a bedroom wall above the bed, where the soft purple reads from the doorway and the painted shapes stay easy to read from the side.
