Mendocino — Fine Art

Mendocino by Eyvind Earle points to the thin line work and sharp shapes that appear in much of the artist practice. The title suggests a stretch of coast or country seen from a distance.

Solid forms sit against a plain background, and the edges stay hard rather than soft. The print is a fine art print set in a frame with a back panel, and it arrives assembled when the ready to hang option is used.

In this picture the matte surface keeps the flat colour quiet and lets each outline read without shine. A plain wall above a low shelf works well. From a few steps back the long horizontal bands hold the picture together, and close up the pencil thin lines show the way the drawing was built.
