Metamorphosis II Excerpt 7 — Fine Art

Metamorphosis II Excerpt 7 shows a band of letters and shapes turning into one another along a narrow strip. The black marks sit on a pale sheet and the forms shift from text to figures to patterns as the eye moves along.

MC Escher built this kind of flowing change across a long image, and this excerpt keeps that steady hand. A fine art print set in a frame with a back panel holds the sheet flat and the edges clean.

You notice the letters first, then the bird shapes, then the repeating tiles, as the strip runs from one side to the other. It fits well on a short landing wall between two doors. From the bottom stair you catch the whole band, and on the step you see each letter and form clearly.
