Microchromie 70, ZL violet dEgypte takes a violet field and sets it against softer surrounding colour. The marks sit in tight groups and leave open passages of tone. Fernand Leduc worked with flat colour planes and clear divisions, and this print follows that same approach.

This fine art print arrives ready to hang, with a metal hanger fitted to the back that goes straight onto a nail or screw. No separate frame to buy. The matte paper keeps the violet tones even, so the flat colour areas do not catch a glare from a lamp.

It fits above a long console in a hallway where the light falls soft and even. From the doorway you see the violet band first, then the small marks. Step closer and the divisions between the colour fields become clear.
