About this work
Mural on Indian Red Ground 1950 works with a strong red field and thin paint lines pulled across it. The red sits heavy and the lines cut through it. Jackson Pollock made it during his drip painting period, when he worked on large canvases on the floor.
You get the fine art print with a hanger already on the back. The white frame cuts a clean edge around the picture and keeps the red from running off the sheet. A wood frame would warm the red a little, and a black frame would set it apart.
It looks right on a hallway landing wall, where you pass it every day. The red catches the eye first, then the thin lines step into view. You notice the paint runs more as you walk past.
