Narripi Dreaming — Fine Art

Narripi Dreaming - 1992 shows a country story built from small dots and joined lines. Red and ochre sit on a plain ground, with a dark path running through the field. Clifford Possum Tjapaltjarri worked in the Papunya Tula painting movement and used this kind of mark making to carry a Dreaming story.

The fine art frame comes in white, wood, dark wood or black. A dark wood frame gives this image a firm edge, so the dot field does not fade into the wall. You see the white dots first, then the darker line behind them.

In a hallway with a pale plaster wall, the dark path leads the eye down the corridor. From the bend in the stairs you notice the red patch near the bottom, and the pale paper holds the line steady.
