Naturaleza Viva — Fine Art

Naturaleza Viva from 1943 shows a living scene built from strong shapes and bright colour. Maruja Mallo stacked those layers on the sheet, a method common in the Spanish Surrealist practice of the nineteen forties. The surface holds a dense patch of green and a sharp line of red.

You get the fine art print with a hanger already on the back. The frame finish can follow the room you choose. A light frame on a dark wall keeps the green tones soft, while a wood frame beside wooden furniture joins the warm reds in the painting.

It works on the upstairs landing, where the morning light hits the upper part of the sheet. From the bottom stair you see the broad green field and the red mark clearly, and the small layered shapes appear as you pass.
