Nevis Rock — Fine Art

Nevis Rock - 2008 shows a dark stone mass set against a muted field. A few quiet drawn lines sit near the shape. The picture rests on a simple sheet, with the stone form taking most of the space. Brice Marden keeps the marks slow and measured here.

The fine art print uses a matte paper that holds the dark tones without shine. A frame finish follows the room, so a light frame sits on a dark wall or a dark frame on a pale one. The surface stays soft when the light comes from a low angle.

On a hallway wall beside a coat hook, the stone form reads first, then the thin lines come into view. You notice the slow drawn marks each time you pass through.
