Trois poteaux de bois penchent dans le vent. C’est *No Passing* de Kay Sage, une vision de persistance tranquille dans un endroit vide. Les poteaux ne sont pas clôturés, ni connectés, mais ils se tiennent ensemble, inclinés comme s’ils résistaient à une force invisible.
Le sol est ocre pâle, lisse et immaculé. Derrière les poteaux, une ligne d’horizon sépare la terre du ciel, mais la division semble incertaine. La palette de bruns et de gris atténués de Sage crée un monde où le temps s’écoule lentement, voire pas du tout. Les poteaux ne projettent aucune ombre, comme si la lumière elle-même avait été figée.
Cette affiche convient à un bureau ou une bibliothèque, où l’immobilité de la scène peut être contemplée sans interruption.
