About this work
Ode to the Bievre 2007 4 turns a river into a long drawing on paper. The sheet shows a slow current made of repeated hand drawn strokes. You see the water as a set of moving marks rather than a photograph. The work belongs to Louise Bourgeois and follows her print making practice.
This fine art print is set in a frame with a back panel. The matte paper holds the soft ink tones without a shine. You can see the drawing from across the room, and the small strokes stay clear when you stand near the wall.
It fits along the wall beside a dining table. From the doorway you read the long strokes as a quiet flow, while sitting at the table you notice the hand drawn rhythm in the ink.
