Old House and Garden, East Hampton — Fine Art

Old House and Garden, East Hampton takes a quiet home and yard as its subject. Childe Hassam worked in the american impressionism style, painting with quick brushstrokes that leave the surface lively. The scene stays loose, with colour and line blending together in the open air.

The fine art print comes ready to hang. The frame comes in white, wood, dark wood and black, and gives the picture a clear edge on the wall. A white frame lets the garden greens sit plainly against it, while a dark wood frame draws the eye to the painted strokes.

It works in a study on a side wall, where you see the garden shapes from a few feet away and the brush marks when you stand close. The daylight on that wall keeps the colours even.
