Old House, Nantucket — Fine Art

Old House, Nantucket sets a weathered wooden house against a bright open sky. The paint sits in short loose strokes, with each colour laid down fast and separate. Childe Hassam worked this way outdoors, painting the shapes he saw without smoothing them out.

This fine art print arrives ready to hang, with a metal hanger fitted to the back that goes straight onto a nail or screw. No separate frame to buy. The matte surface keeps the colours plain and the shadows from turning shiny.

It fits a kitchen wall above the sink, where the light from the window lands on the print during the day. From the table you see the broad house shape first, and the small strokes only when you stand near.
