Optical Hopes and Illusions by Man Ray — Fine Art

Optical Hopes and Illusions by Man Ray uses soft grey and black tones that lean toward a cool blue. The shapes sit at the edge of clear and unclear, so the eye has to move back and forth to settle. A quiet tension runs through the marks.

This fine art print comes with a frame in white, wood, dark wood or black. A white frame keeps the grey tones open and even. A dark wood frame puts a firm edge against the soft marks, so the picture reads as a single block on the wall.

It works on the wall above a desk in a study, where the lamp hits the print at an angle. From the chair you see the grey shapes first, and the frame edge holds the whole image in place.
