Oriental Garden Concerto 1976 — Fine Art

Oriental Garden Concerto 1976 is a painting by Alma Woodsey Thomas. The title suggests a garden viewed as a kind of music. Alma Woodsey Thomas built her pictures with short brushstrokes laid in rows and bands, often in bright colours.

You get the fine art print with a hanger already on the back. The print sits on matte paper, so the colours stay soft and there is no shine under a lamp.

In the dining room the bands of colour sit above the table. At dinner the eye moves across the small strokes, then rests on the quiet field behind them. The room feels steady, with the painting reading like a slow garden piece on the wall.
