About this work
P-T #5 - 1970 uses a fast brush pass that leaves a rough edge where the paint runs out. Edward Corbett often worked in this way, letting the stroke end before the shape closes. The mark sits on its own, not part of a larger scene.
The fine art print keeps the texture of that ending stroke, so you can see where the paint thinned out. A light frame on a dark wall lets the pale mark read first.
On a narrow hall wall, the single stroke catches the ceiling light from above. From the landing you see the rough end of the mark before the rest of the picture.
