Palimpsest

Thin marks gather into a dense surface across the picture plane. Palimpsest - 1944 draws from the abstract painting practice of Richard Pousette-Dart, where many small strokes build a layered field. You can see the repeated gesture in each band of tone.

This fine art print arrives ready to hang, with a metal hanger fitted to the back that goes straight onto a nail or screw. No separate frame to buy. The matte paper keeps the marks flat and lets the small strokes read without shine.

It sits on a hallway wall near the front door, where morning light passes over the grain. From the landing you notice the crowded marks first, then the quiet gaps between them.
