Pansies

Pansies - 1915 sets small garden flowers on a plain field with quick brush strokes and thin pale lines.

The marks sit close together and the paint stays thin on the sheet. A fine art print set in a frame with a back panel shows the soft petal shapes without silk or shine.

The matte surface lets the light greens stay muted under a desk lamp. It fits above a dressing table in a bedroom, where the small flower heads read as careful little forms before you lean in to the marks.
