Passage — Fine Art

A grey band runs through the centre of Passage, with lighter zones above and below it. The surface holds scraped paint that leaves broken edges and small clear windows. Gerhard Richter worked in this way, letting the squeegee move across the ground and stop where it stopped.

The frame can follow the room, a light finish on a dark wall, a dark finish on a pale wall, or a wood finish beside wooden furniture. The fine art print keeps the paint layer readable without shine under a lamp.

On a hallway wall, the grey band reads from the landing and the broken edges show from the coat hook. The light from the top stair hits the paper at an angle and the small clear windows stay visible.
