Perspectives by Jean — Fine Art

Perspectives runs in sweeping strokes across the sheet. Jean-Paul Riopelle built the image with thick paint applied in short bursts. The surface holds a rough texture from the paint layer. The marks fall in horizontal bands that suggest distance and open space.

A fine art reproduction on matte paper keeps the paint strokes soft and dull. The frame finish can follow the room, a light frame on a dark wall or a wood frame beside wooden furniture. Hang it at shoulder height where side light catches the paint texture without glare.

It suits a dining room wall near a sideboard where you set dishes between meals. From the doorway the horizontal bands read as layers of ground and sky. Standing close the short paint dashes show their grain and dry edges.
