Poppies, Isles of Shoals

Red poppies fill the foreground in Poppies, Isles of Shoals. White and rose blooms sit against darker greens. Childe Hassam used quick brush marks to catch the flowers in daylight. The paper takes the paint tones without shine.

The product is a fine art print set in a frame with a back panel. The matte surface keeps the reds clear and the shadows quiet. The back panel holds the frame square on the wall.

In a dining room, the red blooms read well from the table when the light comes from the side. The frame stays flat against the wall. You notice the loose painted strokes at the edge of each flower head.
