Porthole

A round opening fills the sheet in Porthole, drawn in measured black lines on a pale ground. MC Escher built the rim with short strokes and kept the centre clear. The image reads as a flat circle that holds a view beyond it.

This fine art print arrives ready to hang, with a metal hanger fitted to the back that goes straight onto a nail or screw. The matte surface keeps the grey tones soft, so the ring and the line work stay easy to read under a lamp.

It works on a hallway wall where you pass by daily. From the corner you see the round shape first, and the short lines around the rim come into focus as you slow down.

Information

Frequently asked

Yes — this Fine Art piece comes framed and arrives ready to hang. It is printed with our 12-color fine art technology on smooth matte paper (200 gsm), protected by shatterproof plexiglass, and set in a durable pine wood frame. A hanging kit is included, so you can put it straight on the wall.

Our 12-color fine art printing technology delivers vivid, accurate colors with real depth, far beyond standard 4-color inkjet printing. The print is on smooth matte paper (200 gsm, 0.26 mm thick) that gives a clean, glare-free display, and it sits behind shatterproof plexiglass in a durable pine wood frame (20 mm thick, 10 to 14 mm wide). The paper and wood are FSC-certified. Every piece is printed and shipped on demand, so there is no minimum order and every order is fresh.
