About this work
Prose of the Trans Siberian and of Little Jehanne of France 1913 uses broad colour planes and curved lines that cross the page. The work belongs to the orphism period, where colour and movement sit side by side rather than in a single row. Sonia Delaunay built these passages with flat colour and clear edges.
This fine art print uses a matte paper that lets the colour areas stay soft under a lamp. A light frame on a dark wall lets the pale bands stand out at a normal standing height. The paper does not shine, so the blue and yellow tones read as flat and steady.
It fits above a plain kitchen door where the light stays even. From the breakfast spot you see the big curves first, then the small shifts in tone across the page.
