Red Cannas — Fine Art

Red Cannas shows a close-up cluster of red petals filling most of the picture. The petals curl and overlap, with softer pink and cream tones toward the edges and a pale ground behind. Georgia OKeeffe paints the flower forms with broad, simple strokes.

The fine art print uses a matte paper surface, so the red tones stay even and the pale ground does not shine under a lamp. A light frame works on a dark wall, and a dark frame works on a pale wall, or a wood frame sits beside wooden furniture.

Above a narrow sofa, the red petals draw the eye from across the room. Up close, the broad painted marks show in the red and pink areas. In a quiet room with soft daylight, the plain ground keeps the flower form clear.
