Sac 2 — Fine Art

Sac 2 by Sam Gilliam places broad colour across the sheet. The paint sits in loose bands that move from one side to the other. Some areas stay thin and some pile up in heavier layers.

The work follows the colour field painting practice. A fine art print set in a frame with a back panel holds these bands of paint. The matte face keeps the lighter tones from glare under a lamp.

You can see the ready to hang option when the frame arrives assembled. It suits a dining room wall where the long table gives the bands room to breathe. From the doorway the colours read as one wide sweep.
