Seven Green Leagues — Fine Art

Seven Green Leagues by Alice Baber shows layers of green paint laid across a flat field. The brush marks sit on top of one another with different pressure. Some marks are thicker, some thinner. The green tones shift from a cooler edge to a warmer centre. The surface looks built up in thin passes rather than one solid coat.

This fine art print uses a white frame that gives the picture a clean edge on the wall. The frame finish keeps the green tones clear and stops the image from fading into the wall around it.

In a study above a desk the green layers sit against the wood of the desk. You see the green bands first, then the small changes in brush pressure when you move closer. The white frame holds the shapes together.
